01Natural wine / Jordaan
Chenin Chenin natural wine shop + bar
Hazenstraat 60C, Jordaan · €€ · shop Mon-Sat, bar Fri-Sat evenings
Amsterdam’s best natural wine shop, and one of the better ones in the country. Run by two people who know their producers personally, the selection is tightly curated: mostly biodynamic and skin-contact wines from France, Georgia, Italy, and a few other places. You can always ask what they are excited about right now and get a genuine answer. On Friday and Saturday evenings the shop becomes a bar - you open a bottle and drink it there. One of the better ways to spend a Friday in the Jordaan.

02Wine shop / Oost
Bureau Wijn the unusual stuff
Eerste van Swindenstraat 469, Oost · €€
A different approach from Chenin Chenin: Bureau Wijn focuses on unusual producers that do not show up in most shops. The selection shifts often and the team is good at finding things that are worth the conversation. If you already know natural wine and want to try something you have never had, this is the place to have that conversation.

03Wine shop / Hoofddorppleinbuurt
Ton Overmars broad selection
Hoofddorpplein 11, Hoofddorppleinbuurt · €€
A larger, more traditional wine merchant with a wide selection - from everyday bottles to serious old vintages. The staff know the stock well and the prices are fair. Best option when you want knowledgeable help choosing from a broad range, rather than a curated natural-wine edit.
